Different photo galley | April 8, 2008 @ 1:38pm | Hi I'm just evaluating this CMS and want to know if a better photogallery (like Lightbox) is available for it. The standard one is a little crude!!

Toggle On/Off for site | April 2, 2008 @ 10:20am | Is there any possibility that we could see a toggle on/off for maintenance purposes ie, updating/changing - together with a default page when the site is turned off?
Also, perhaps, a key for "permitted" access to the public area when turned off.
Cheers |

| April 1, 2008 @ 8:48pm | I hear Tennessee, Australia is lovely this time of year, though!
There is a countries/regions system in FlexCMS (Control Panel > Preferences and Settings block > Manage Countries and Regions), but it hasn't been entirely applied to the registration system yet, only the eCommerce area which is what it was developed for initially.
For the user account creation side it only controls the countries dropdown (those countries with "Allow Users" checked are the ones they get to pick from). For the eCommerce system it does behave as you've described, where the country is selected and then the list of states/provinces is updated accordingly. We should be able to get that part added to the registration form as well.
You have to go through and put in your options (click on the country in the list), we've just done the US and Canada (we're happy to include them in the next release if you'd like to make us a complete list for Australia and/or any other country).

| April 1, 2008 @ 8:38pm | There's nothing really special about the $TemplateTags array, it's just a holder for the various pieces to place them in the template. Everything it does should be in each of the templates already. But here's a list of them all:
Header: $TemplateTags['title'] -- Inserted into the <title> tag to display as the page title $TemplateTags['description'] -- META "description" tag $TemplateTags['keywords'] -- META "keywords" tag
The eight block locations: $TemplateTags['logoblock'] $TemplateTags['topbannerblocks'] $TemplateTags['topfullblocks'] $TemplateTags['topcenterblocks'] $TemplateTags['leftblocks'] $TemplateTags['rightblocks'] $TemplateTags['bottomcenterblocks'] $TemplateTags['bottomfullblocks']
And finally the footer content (picks up the bottom login link, copyright box, processing time, etc): $TemplateTags['footer']

Option List - Countries | April 1, 2008 @ 5:02pm | Hi David,
Yes that was a little lacking in description LOL.
What I mean is: For registering and "other" forms where an address is required:
An option/selection (drop down) for Country and perhaps for State/Province whereby once the Country has been chosen the State/Province field provides a list of states/provinces that relate to that country only.
This is part of a frustration I have when registering on some sites where they allow you to select a country and then a "required" field for State with only a list of US State (so usually I end up in Tennesee Australia |

| April 1, 2008 @ 2:53pm | Not a problem, glad you're back up and running.
It's possible that they were performing upgrades of some sort. Or more likely that some other site had a badly written script that used up all the allowed connections. And also possible someone got a mention on national TV or linked somewhere important and killed their site along with all the others on the server!

MySQL | April 1, 2008 @ 2:46pm | David, At the risk of sounding like I jumped the gun, suddenly the site is working...
I did a little research and I agree with you. This is not an uncommon problem and it is generally a host problem. I host with 1and1. I freaked out a little because I have ran another site with them for over 2 years (some othe php package, can't remember) and never had this problem. I hope it was a one off thing!
I must compliment you all. The support from the Flex team (both forum and contact form) has been quick and helpful. Kudos and thanks! |

| April 1, 2008 @ 2:38pm | At the risk of being one of those software people who immediately blame the hosting provider, I do think this one is on them. Generally that error indicates the server is just overloaded with too many sites or too much traffic and PHP can't create a connection to the database. I would contact your hosting company and see if they can shed any light on the situation. I don't think there's any way that could be a FlexCMS problem, as it's not even getting to where a query is run.
