Error displaying page??? | April 20, 2005 @ 4:22pm | Hi Without problems I can create a new page. I can also preview this page, but when I add a link to it, in the main menu, and click - it just says "Error displaying Page". What is the problem?Screen dump 1: shows error page (www.thomasjessen.dk/scr1.jpg) Screen dump 2_1/2_2: shows editing of page (www.thomasjessen.dk/scr2_1.jpg) and (www.thomasjessen.dk/scr2_2.jpg)
I hope that someone can helt me get started with this fantastic cms. Thanks.

| April 20, 2005 @ 4:56pm | Hi Thomas
I can see from your first screenshot (http://www.thomasjessen.dk/scr1.jpg) that the problem is the address you're trying to use to view the page. You have 'index.php/admin/Test', when it should be 'index.php/pages/Test'.
How did you create the link in the block? Did you hard code the link in, or select the page from one of the pre-made blocks?

| April 20, 2005 @ 5:37pm | Hi David Thanks for your fast reply.
For some reason it made the "admin/..." adress, and now it makes the "pages/..." adress. So unfortuneately it is not the problem. You can check it out on www.thomasjessen.dk/flex.
And I did not hard code. I mainly work on a graphic based basis. "Life is too short for coding"....but mayby also more confusing
Best regards, Thomas |

If you would like to create us an account (or give us access to yours) on your site with administrator access we would be happy to go take a closer look for you. | April 21, 2005 @ 12:30pm | Hi Thomas,
Thanks for your email. As you know I checked out your site and sent you an informational reply via email which explains the process of block creation and page linking.
In a nutshell for those reading...The page link didn't work because the Enter the Link field had the word "Test" in it.
The Enter the Link box is to be used ONLY if you have an external link to type in, i.e. http://www.somesite.com or are using the correct format to pull a page from your FlexCMS site, i.e. pages/contact.
The page was selected correctly from the Link (Functions:) drop down list box. But because the Enter the Link field was filled in, the page errored off.
The easiest way to add a page to a block is to leave the Enter the Link box blank and then select the page you want to point to from the Link (Functions:) drop down box. Then directly below that, there is a field that says Text/Title, that's where you'd put the name of your link which will be displayed on your block, i.e. Test.
As a side note, we do have an online training manual which gives specific info on a majority of the FlexCMS features. These two topics will help you with block creation and page linking.
Link Pages
and
Block Wizard.
Note: You must be logged into FlexCMS before you can view our Training Manual.
I think that about wraps it up on this topic. If you have any questions, please let us know.
