Custom Layout | July 5, 2005 @ 11:22am | Can FlexCMS be incorporated into a standard html website, or does it have to go into a selected template. I want to maybe move the navigation links around and stuff is that possible ?? |

| July 5, 2005 @ 2:33pm | Hi Simon,
FlexCMS requires PHP and MySQL to function, so it can't be integrated into HTML pages. It can, however, have the layout of your existing site, a template, or whatever else, integrated into it to give the look and feel you're looking for. Although the templates are PHP files and do contain some PHP code, for the most part they're just HTML, so you can adjust them with tables or css to suit your needs.
As for moving the navigation links around, yes, it's completely flexible to do whatever you would like. You can simply move them to a different block position (there are currently Left, Right, Top Center, Bottom Center, Top Full, Bottom Full, Logo, and Top Banner block positions in FlexCMS), or integrate it into the template elsewhere. http://www.woodpluscoatings.com is a good example of a FlexCMS site that has the menu integrated into the template rather than in blocks, however its contents can still be modified in the control panel the same way.
Hopefully that answers your questions. If not, or if you have any others, please feel free to respond and we'll be happy to help you out.
Thanks, David
