FlexCMS 1.3.1 Bug & Enhancement Release

| FlexCMS 1.3.1 Bug & Enhancement Release | July 28, 2005 @ 8:05pm | Several minor bugs have now been fixed in FlexCMS. Any downloads of the 'full' or 'update' packages before July 28, 2005 @ 6:00pm EDT should be downloaded again, and any installations made from those files should be updated.
To update an existing version 1.3 installation, simply download the 'update' package, and replace the php files in the main sources folder with those in the download. No database changes are needed, and you should NOT run the 'update.php' script.
Fixes in this release include:
- Editing Blocks Bug (Mozilla/FireFox): When editing blocks using the FireFox/Mozilla browser, blocks did not edit correctly due to a bug in those browsers. Certain blocks would cause the rest of the page to end up in the contents box and prevent any changes to the block.
- Server Timezone: In settings section server timezone was incorrect during DST. It now shows the correct timezone.
- Page Templates: When using page templates in a subfolder, the image did not display correctly, due to a minor glitch in the code.
- Windows/IIS: Installations on Windows/IIS and similar systems are now much easier thanks to an integrated patch for previous query string problems on these platforms. Instead of having to modify files to make FlexCMS function on these systems, you now simply install it as normal and the package determines whether the patch is needed and applies it as neccessary.
The following tweaks/enhancements have also been added:
- Alphabetical links now appear at the top of the Members List to aid in finding a specific user quickly
- Stats: Pageviews projection added under the Page Views Last 12 Months (By Month) section shows the projected pageviews for the month based on current data. The projection is shown in brackets below the actual total to date and is reflected in grey on the graph.
- Page Templates have been added back into FlexCMS by popular demand. They appeared in the last release of the full version, and are now also available in the update package. You can select a Page Type when creating a page and easily add a photo (and caption) on the left or right side of the text.

Bugs Fixed:
Guestbook - Prevented changing the title alignment of the section from left to center or right.
Pages - Prevented page from being displayed properly if using spaces in the Page Name field.

| September 12, 2005 @ 2:41am | In response to recent reports of spamming and hacking from the FlexCMS contact form, we have made modifications to the way email addresses in the various forms that use them are handled. Included in both the Full and Update packages are updated files (listed below) to correct the registration form, newsletter subscriptions and sending news articles and forum topics.
We have also included a fix for the Mother's Day dates issue with the calendar (see below), and very minor improvements to the main calendar and events management section.
Please note that the 'copy to me' option on the contact form and the send article/forum topic sections needed to be removed to make those sections more protected from attacks. Also, when sending articles or forum topics, you can only enter one email address at a time.
Any downloads of the 'full' or 'update' packages before September 12, 2005 @ 1:02 am EDT should be downloaded again, and any installations made from those files should be updated.
For new installations, simply follow the usual installation process and your site will contain the latest fixes mentioned here.
For existing installations of FlexCMS 1.3.1, follow these steps to update your site:
1. Download the 'update' package, and replace the php files in the main sources folder with those in the download. No database changes are needed, and you should NOT run the 'update.php' script.
Files updated in this release (if you wish to replace just those files which have been modified):
- index.php
- inc-core-register-submit.php
- inc-cl-admin-events.php
- inc-cl-admin-events-edit.php
- inc-cl-idx.php
- inc-mb-idx.php
- inc-na-idx.php
- inc-nl-idx.php
2. Enter the Manage Calendar Events section of the Control Panel, edit the Mother's Day event and cut and paste the following:
5/9/2004, 5/8/2005, 5/14/2006, 5/13/2007, 5/11/2008, 5/10/2009, 5/9/2010
into the dates section (replacing any dates currently listed there).
3. Update your contact and contact-submit pages with the code found here: http://www.flexcms.com/index.php/forum/thread/8.html.
