I've just up graded to IE7 beta and have found I'm stuck without the editor.
Is there an update on the way or should I revert back to IE6?

Unfortunately, no, I don't think there will be an update available to fix that. The current FlexCMS editor relies heavily on Internet Explorer, so most of its basic functions are totally out of our control.
It does have some fairly serious flaws which Microsoft doesn't seem interested in fixing, and since it only works with IE 5.5 and up (and apparently doesn't work with IE 7 anyways!), we will be moving away from that in the future to a different editor.
In the meantime, I would suggest going back to IE 6 if you would like to continue using it.
