FLEXCMS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL VERSIONS

Version 1.2 (August 13, 2004),Version 1.3 (April 6, 2005) & Version 2.0 (June 2, 2006).

1) Create a MySQL database on your server or hosting account. Your system administrator or hosting provider may have already done this for you. If you are unsure about whether or not you need to do this, or where to find the connection information asked for in the installation package, please contact your system administrator or hosting provider.

NOTE: If you use Cpanel software to create your MySQL database, make sure you input the entire database name into the Database Name field on the install.php file, i.e. yourusername_yourdatabasename or you will get error messages.

You do not need to create any tables in the database. The installation package will take care of all of that for you.

2) Create or locate the folder where you wish to install FlexCMS. This can be any web-accessible folder and even the root folder of the domain name if you wish. You must then chmod that folder with permissions set to ?777? (read, write, and execute for all users).

NOTE: Windows users please ignore the above statement about setting permissions for the folder, as this is only required in Unix/Linux environments.

3) Upload the files contained in the installation package (not including this file) to your chosen installation folder (from Step 2 above).

4) Run the install.php file from your web browser: http://www.your.domain.com/installation_location/install.php and follow the instructions.

If you need assistance with the installation or usage of this software, please visit http://www.FlexCMS.com for access to our support forums, user's manual and more.
