Hi kl7or and thanks for trying out FlexCMS!

To my knowledge, .Net isn't actually a server, but more of a programming language and interface. Most likely if you're using the .Net framework your platform is Windows Server 2003, and you're using IIS as the web server. Is this correct?

What version of PHP are you using? Do you have MySQL installed and functioning, and if so, what version? Do you get any error messages when attempting to proceed to the next step of the installation? Is this a live web server or a local machine?

If you could answer those questions for us, we'll do our best to help you get FlexCMS working on your system. Also, a PHPinfo printout might be helpful in determining your problem.

Thanks,
David

Install problemsJune 14, 2005 @ 2:01am
Davis,

Here it the info you requested:

PHP ver 4.3.11
MYSQL 7.0 and I am using it in other applications]
IIS 6.0

I am receiving no error messages. Take a look for yourself:

www.alpinesoft.com/fn/install.php

You can also try www.alpinesoft.com/info.php

And finally this is a live server

Dean,

First off, just for your own information for the future, you actually have MySQL 3.23.49 (it's your MSSQL that's 7.0 -- both are SQL systems, but quite different), but it seems to be working fine and that version shouldn't be a problem for FlexCMS.

As for the installation itself, it appears that your server isn't handling the query string (the part of the address after the ?, such as .php?abc=123) as it normally should. This isn't a huge problem (we've seen it before on some of the more exotic Windows systems). You'll notice the address changes from 'install.php' to 'install.php?1', but unfortunately it doesn't actually proceed to the next step.

Try replacing your install.php with the one contained in this zip archive: http://www.flexcms.com/downloads/flexcms_v1.3_install-alternate.zip, and see if that works any better for you.

Thanks,
David

Additional Startup ProblemsJune 14, 2005 @ 11:59am
David,

The new install.php seems to do the trick. Got thought the whole installation process and it seemed to create the tables, directories, and files.

When I browse to my page www.alpinesoft.com/fn/index.php everything looks normal until you press any of the links the you get the message no input file specified.

Thanks for the excellent support.

Dean,

Yes it's the same problem as the install file, just coming up in a different way. The error you're getting there now isn't from FlexCMS but rather from your server, as it's trying to treat the other sections of the address (/pages, /contact, etc) as folders instead of just arguments to the index.php file. And, of course, there's no folder called 'pages' there, so it errors off.

The fix is pretty simple, though. The same as before, just replace the 'index.php' file with the one here: http://www.flexcms.com/downloads/fl...s_v1.3_index-alternate-6may2005.zip

Thanks,
David
